DAREDEVIL casting stories online FALSE!!!

Hey folks, Harry here... inevitably you will be seeing rumors about Matt Damon and Neve Campbell in Mark Steven Johnson's DAREDEVIL movie popping up all over the place. Because the GUARDIAN has picked this up, you can bet that many other outlets will repeat the story word for word without further research.

But I ran the story by Mark Steven Johnson, who tells me that there is absolutely no truth to the rumors at all. He says Neve Campbell's name has never even been discussed as a possibility before, and that while Matt Damon is indeed on a very short list of possible actors to play DAREDEVIL, no offers have been made to any on the list -- which does include Guy Pearce, apparently.

Mark did not comment further on the production or where it is at the moment, but if he is to start shooting in the fall/end of the year, he'll need to cast soon so that training for the actor can begin. BELOW is a letter about the false rumors. If you see these rumors on other sites, newspapers or magazines... discard them. It's bollocks.

Hi Harry,

I've never written to you before, probably because I'm always last with the news, despite it being my job to trudge through the murky world of online movie banter. But here's something a little interesting that I stumbled across on the highly reputable (i.e usually bangs on about independent movies all of the time. Nothing wrong with that, but it does suggest credability) filmunlimited.com. So the story goes, Matt Damon has actually crossed the 't's' and dotted the 'i's' to officially play Matt Murdock in Mark Steven Johnson's DareDevil adaptation. Not only that, but Neve Cambell is onboard to play the love interest (though no mention if this will be Karen Page or not).

Apparently the story broke on Ananova, so no doubt you know all there is to know by now, but just in case you didn't, I thought I'd run it by you.
