I am – Hercules!!


Remember way back when Tom Cruise wanted to play "Iron Man"?

Well, he still wants to get into the superhero game, and may do so via "Sleeper," based on the DC/Wildstorm funnybook series spun off from more famous Wildstorm titles "WildCATs" and "Gen 13."

Tuesday morning’s Hollywood Reporter describes the Warner Bros. project:

Written by Ed Brubaker with art by Sean Phillips, "Sleeper," which ran from 2003-05, centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group, named Miss Misery.

Sam Raimi, the "Spider-Man" director shepharding the project, also recently set up another superhero story, "The Transplants," at Disney.

Brubaker's other writing credits include "Gotham Central" and "The Authority: Revolution."
