Hi Drew, you promised us that the next thing you'd post is your Wall-E review. This is no Wall-E review. I realize reviewing it now may be a bit pointless, but since your kid is about the same age as mine, I would have loved to read about his reaction to the movie. (or should I call it a film?)

After Sloane on Alias it would be fun to see Rifkin camping it up.

...has a 3.8. "If you are capable of thinking, this film is beneath you. "Homo Erectus" is mindless garbage; the lowest excuse for comedy aimed at the most forgiving and infantile of minds; mentally-challenged adolescents. One scene pretty much sums up director Adam Rifkin's approach to comedy. In the trailer when the caveman throws the animal bone into the air 2001-style and it falls a moment later, hitting him on the head. Predictable, and utterly unfunny. A five-year-old wouldn't laugh." Sounds great, uh...sign me up?

ill pass. Plus saying Tom Arnold is going to be there isn't a major draw either. If i wanted to hear a guy talk about his fat ex wife I'd listen to my dad more often.
Sounds like a really classy film.

Moriarty... I trust you with all genres but comedy. "Love Guru" and now this.

Yes, you deftly avoided giving any sort of personal endorsement or assessment of the film's value itself, and you are just promoting the EVENT...

But this isn't even a fun "event" like "Satan's Cheerleaders" or something with geek value... this is a National Lampoon movie with Maxim girls in attendance. And though Ali Larter starred in this (it was shot pre-Heroes in 2005), I doubt she'll be there, removing at least accidental geek value.

And calling this a true "indie" movie when it was paid for by the University of Austin so that their film students could work on a movie isn't quite the indie cred you'd expect.

I know there must be a lull in movie events, what with only the greatest movie summer in a decade, but this is pretty lame. I'm happy Rifkin got the free promotion here. But I'll wait for AICN's screening of "The Hottie & The Nottie 2."

Some guy gave the movie 10 out of 10 stars. I clicked on his name and discovered that he also gave a 1982 sex comedy called Beach Girls 10 out of 10 stars. After reading his comments for both movies, I've concluded he has to be joking. Esp. when he calls Beach girls "Quite simply the most emotionally devastating film I have ever seen."

Is this getting a wide release or a Blockbuster exclusive? Other than the cheap CGI this looks like a Crown International movie like Cavegirl Vs being a Caveman knockoff. I hope those were not the comic high points in that trailer...

with unfunny, homophobic puns, Mori? How would you define acting "like a homo" precisely? Think about the racial parallels, and I think you'll realize that publishing that kind of infantile garbage just blows.

Bad show, Drew.

You may be hands down the best writer on AICN, but you have a really tragic sense of humor. Is it raising your little kid that has you in a stunted humor phase, or have you always been a little--or a lot--off when it comes to knowing what's funny and what's not?

is fucking terrible. After writing and directing a piece of shit like that, he really should not be allowed to make another film ever again! It's not even "good" bad. Just bad, and Ali Larter won't get nekkid, unfortunately, so there is no reason whatsoever to see this.
